Coffee from
East Timor.
With one foot in Norway and one in East Timor, Konfiansa wants to reduce the distance between farmer and consumer.
Konfiansa springs from the organization Kria dalan
Kria dalan is a collaboration between Norwegian and Timorese students with the aim of contributing to sustainable development.
A basic idea in the work has been to give young Timorese knowledge and tools to develop the country themselves.
We take that with us in Konfiansa.
Our goal is to improve living conditions for farmers in East Timor.
Through a short, efficient and fair value chain, we want to radically increase 'value capture' in East Timor. Instead of around 10% of what you pay for the coffee going to the country of production (which is common), we want to increase this share to closer to 50%.
All profits in Konfiansa go straight back to East Timor. Our goal is that approx. 1/3 of what you pay for the coffee will go back to the local community. Read more about our work here.
